Paragon Decision Technology B.V. of the Netherlands, is the producer of the AIMMS® platform which we use for developing many of our decision support applications. In January 2004, Applied Optimization and Paragon signed an AIMMS® Service Partnership Agreement.

AIMMS® is the modeling tool of choice for Operations Research and Management Science professionals to develop optimization based decision support applications and advanced planning systems. AIMMS® is used by leading companies in a wide range of industries in areas such as supply chain management, production planning, logistics, forestry planning and risk-, revenue- and asset- management.

AIMMS® is far more than just another mathematical modeling language. True, the modeling language is state of the art for sure, but alongside this AIMMS® offers a number of advanced modeling concepts not found in other languages, as well as a full graphical user interface both for developers and end-users. AIMMS® includes solvers for LP/MIP/QP/NLP/MINLP and can be further extended to incorporate any of the advanced commercial solvers available on the market today.

The strategic relationship with Paragon gives Applied Optimization an edge in rapid prototyping, quick execution and providing rigorous optimization capability. AIMMS® reflects a new generation of tools that were not available when the majority of ERP and Planning systems were developed. Applied Optimization is leveraging this fast-follower advantage to the advantage of its customers- by offering the same or better capability at a fraction of the price.
